Harry Solomon Harry started doing Israeli dances in his synagogue youth group in high school. At Cornell University he had a job in the student union setting up Wednesday night events, one of which was international folk dance. After clearing the room, he had to wait until the session was done to replace the furniture, so he figured he might as well learn international repertoire. He also led the Israeli dance session on Thursday nights.

Moving to Philadelphia after college, he taught Israeli dance in several after school programs, ran the Israeli dance session at the University of Pennsylvania, and danced with the Drexel University international folk dance group. It was at Drexel that he met a dancer named Judy.

Harry and Judy danced in various groups in the Philly area until relocating to Chicagoland in 2000. They now are on the leadership teams for Evanston Monday Night Folk Dancing and for Tuesday Night Zoom Folk Dance Friends.
