Damon Smith has been dancing since he attended a workshop in Madison lead by Michael Kuharski and Nancy Yugo around 1980, except for a couple of dry spells caused by extended visits to various folkdance backwaters like East Lansing (Michigan) and Bird Creek (Alaska).
