Tony Ortega is new to International Folk Dancing, having just started 2 years ago. He finds IFD very challenging, rewarding, and entertaining. Twice, he has attended the Madison Folk Ball and attended DCFF for the first time in 2025. Tony enjoys Contra Dancing, Square Dancing, Round Dancing (Waltz and 2 step), Irish Dance, Swing dance (East Coast, West Coast, 3 step Hustle), waltz, and ballroom dancing on roller skates.

He is big into tech and wants to use those skills to help set up dance rooms and sound equipment for optimal performance. He has good troubleshooting skills and can resolve many different technical, mechanical, electrical, and software issues. Tony has been an adult and youth coach in a variety of outdoor sports and has been a technical trainer and instructor mentor and has significant experience in adult learning.

He’d like to apply his knowledge, skills and experience towards helping the festival run smoothly and to make DCFF a very enjoyable experience for everyone.
