Sharon Flory Sharon Flory has been dancing since she was very young (embarrassing video of her in a diaper and Spanish dance skirt shows she was dancing at 18 months old). She studied classical ballet and modern dance for a number of years, dabbled in Israeli dancing for a couple of years at the local Y, but stopped any formal classes when she was about 14. In her thirties, she truly found a passion for folk dancing in 1987, when she had been living in Manhattan for about 6 years. Since then, she's been a dancing fool.

Sharon fell in love with international folk dance and hasn't stopped since. In New York, she danced at the Ethnic Folk Arts Center, Columbia Univ, Hungarian House, among other places. She and her husband divide their time between New York City and Santa Fe, New Mexico. This past year, covid found them in Santa Fe for the whole year, and she has enjoyed zoom dancing all over the US and the world, and being part of the zoom teaching/leadership group for the Tuesday evening Santa Fe/Los Alamos dance sessions. Her literally, "30 seconds of dance fame", came while studying Bulgarian dance with Elissaveta Iordanova in NYC. She and her classmates came on stage and danced for approximately that amount of time with Elizavetta's professional dance group, Gorana Dance, at the Bulgarian Independence Day celebration in March of 2017.
